ROYAL OAK, Mich.,
An “eggstravaganza” of family fun is planned for the Detroit Zoo’s 26th annual Bunnyville celebration, presented by Meijer, on Friday, April 14, and Saturday, April 15, 2017. The two-day event features treats, games, entertainment and zookeeper talks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
Bunnyville includes a golden egg hunt with more than 100 eggs hidden throughout the Zoo each day. The festivities also feature the Jelly Bean Jamboree, Funny Bunny Games, whisker painting and photos with the Easter Bunny.
Live entertainment includes music by Miss Paula and the Candy Bandits at Rackham Fountain, The Amazing Clark magic show at the Events Pavilion, and the Off Broadway Productions musical “Bunnyville Follies” in the Main Picnic Grove.
Zookeeper talks and special treats for the animals are featured both days. The Tauber Family Railroad will be back on track for the event, weather permitting, for $3 one way.
Each Bunnyville guest who brings a canned or other non-perishable food item for Gleaners Community Food Bank receives a reduced admission price of $9. Admission for Detroit Zoological Society members is free, but members are encouraged to bring food donations.
Bunnyville is also supported by Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Gantz Dental, LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan, Michigan Educational Credit Union and SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium.
