As the Detroit Zoo prepares to open the Cotton Family Wolf Wilderness on June 8, 2015, and introduce a pair of gray wolves, it also invites persons whose name includes “wolf” or a version thereof to enjoy free admission that day.  

Anyone who produces valid photo ID verifying that their first, middle or last name is Wolf – or Wolfe, Wolfson, Wolford, Wulff, Wulfmeier and similar – is eligible for one free admission to the Zoo that day only.  Parking, rides, attractions, food and other additional purchases are not included.

The Cotton Family Wolf Wilderness, located at the southwest corner of the Zoo, is a 2-acre naturalistic habitat that will feature grassy hills and meadows, a variety of trees, a flowing stream and pond, dens and elevated rock outcroppings from which the wolves can survey their surroundings and Zoo visitors.  

“Just as we are excited to welcome wolves back to the Detroit Zoo for the first time in 25 years, we are also happy to welcome human ‘Wolfs’ to enjoy a free day at the Zoo on June 8 in celebration of this beautiful new habitat,” said Ron Kagan, executive director and CEO of the Detroit Zoological Society.
