Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo
Join thousands of runners and walkers as they lace up their runnings shoes for the annual Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo, sponsored by Ford Motor Company, on Sunday, September 11, 2022. The event includes a 5K and a non-competitive Fun Walk. Runners of the 5K start at the Zoo’s 10 Mile Road entrance and win through the scenic streets of Huntington Woods and cross the finish line INSIDE the Zoo! Walkers follow a course past award-winning animal habitats as they stroll through Zoo grounds.
Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo raises critical funds for the Ruth Roby Glancy Animal Health Complex and veterinary care for the animals at the Detroit Zoo and Belle Isle Nature Center.
All participants receive a commemorative T-shirt and a collectible finisher medal upon completion of the race.
Event takes place rain or shine. On Race Day, please plan to arrive early. 10 Mile Road will close for the 5K, so expect heavy traffic.
