There is no better place in metro Detroit for the next generation of zoologists, conservationists and community leaders to engage in building their knowledge and sharpening their skills for their future endeavors. Camps, scout programs, teen volunteer opportunities and internships are just the beginning! Check back often for new opportunities.
Lifelong Learners
The Detroit Zoo offers unique opportunities both in person and virtual for seniors. Enjoy tours of the zoo or lectures on conservation and the ins and outs of what it takes to care for the animals here at the zoo.
Camps
Zookeeper Camps introduce campers to the needs of animals and the complexities of animal care. Campers have the opportunity to explore all types of animals and learn about their health, behavior, nutrition and welfare. All of the camps include an interaction with a member of the animal care staff for an authentic experience and insider information.
Scouts Workshops
Meet badge requirements by visiting the Detroit Zoo! Bring your scout group and choose one of our daytime adventures. All programs include a tour of the Zoo and an interactive biofact presentation by one of our knowledgeable volunteer educators.
